Self-taught painter, native and resident of St-Michel-des-Saints, Madeleine St-Georges is the instigator of the "Our History" project (series of paintings(boards) - paintings on wood telling moments of Saint-Michel-des-Saints' history). This idea was born in parallel with a scenography class given to the 12 to 17 years old students of St-Michel's École des Montagnes in 2002.

From black and white photos and precise descriptions of deans of St-Michel, like Mr. Claude Lasalle, Mrs Isabelle Ferland, Mrs Thérèse St-Georges Garceau, amongst others), Madeleine reconstitutes places, streets, houses today disappeared and draws a realistic proline (profeature) of former times until today.

The first part of the project is now completed :

Other paintings will be created and installed in various public places, each having for subject a site, a fact or a well-known name of our past. Approximately every 3 months, at least 1 new panel will be revealed. The purpose: set up an organised and historic trip the visitors can go through with or without a guide.
